McAllen, Texas-based FibeRio Technology Corp. recently introduced MERV 15 and HEPA grade nanofiber filtration media made using the company's Forcespinning technology. According to the company, these media are highly efficient at very low pressure drops, and can replace microglass media with very high pressure drops currently used by roll goods and filter manufacturers. FibeRio reports its Fiber Engine FS1100 nanofiber production process featuring Forcespinning offers a productive and cost-effective way to manufacture nanofibers for MERV 15 and HEPA grade filters."Forcespinning technology has the high productivity and low operating cost needed for commercial nanofiber production," said Ellery Buchanan, CEO, FibeRio. "Our customers are commercializing the next generation of nanofiber based filter media without sacrificing profit margins and the quality control that their customers expect."

"The ability to produce MERV 15 and HEPA grade filtration media from materials like [nylon] 6 and [polyvinylidene fluoride] with a cost effective turnkey process is something no other nanofiber production platform can provide," said Roger Lipton, chief marketing officer, FibeRio. "Companies looking to establish competitive advantage are quickly moving to Forcespinning because they can develop unique products and they can do so cost effectively."
